On September 1, 2009 the North Star District officially came into existence at the long anticipated split of the great Tomahawk District of the Sam Houston Area Council. It is comprised of the geographic area of Fort Bend Independent School District that lies north of Interstate 59. When it began it had 43 units and 1286 registered youth.

Our primary goal as a district is to support and strengthen the individual units in their delivery of programs to the youth with 1) quality activities, 2) commissioner service, 3) training, and 4) adult and youth recruiting.

Now on this eve of the 100th year anniversary of scouting in America, let’s remember to have a lot of fun, and to do our jobs well for the kids – they deserve it.

North Star District consists of 18 Cub Scout Packs, 12 Boy Scout Troops and 6 Venture crews serving Eastern Fort Bend County, Texas, one of the most dynamic and fastest growing areas in the United States.
